Calicut: The Popular Front of India has demanded the Central Government to constitute an independent agency for reinvestigating all the blast cases in the country since 1992 and bring out a white paper on all recent incidents of terrorism. PFI reiterated the demand at the end of its National Executive Council meeting held here on 15-16th January 2011.
The ongoing investigations even in Congress ruled states are not enough to fully unearth the masterminds behind the blasts because of the communal bias of a section in police and administration, said PFI executive.

PFI has also urged the Central Government and the Congress led State governments of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh to take immediate steps to release the Muslim youths falsely implicated and jailed for blasts that were actually engineered by Sangh Parivar. The meeting has asked the central and state governments to bring to book all the top level conspirators in RSS and exercise a close watch on its subversive activities.
Popular Front will hold a nationwide campaign to expose the RSS brand Hindutva terrorism in the context of the new exposures which are creating shock waves throughout the country.
PFI, however, observed that a ban on RSS would not be a measure enough to terminate the menace of RSS terrorism. “RSS activities could not be curbed so far in spite of the ban on it on three occasions. It will be a futile exercise since RSS associates are allowed to work under other outfits including BJP,” said K. M. Shareef, General Secretary, PFI.
The meeting has also put a demand to revoke Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and to immediately release of Dr. Binayak Sen who is sentenced to life imprisonment on the basis of this black law.
The meeting welcomed the observations in the Supreme Court judgment which upheld the bail granted to Dr. Reneef by the Kerala High Court. The High Court decision to grant bail to Dr Raneef was challenged by the Kerala government led by CPM alleging that he was associated with Popular Front. “The CPM in Kerala which claims to be a sentinel for civil rights and champion of minority rights showed its true colours by using political power for suppressing a social movement and harassing its workers,” said Sahreef.
The Apex court has given a historic judgment that protects the constitutional right of peaceful association as against the assault on democratic rights by the government administration and police. The Supreme Court has made it clear that there was no evidence to prove any allegation of terrorism on Popular Front. The court has also pointed out that mere association of person with even a terrorist organization could not be a ground for detaining him unless he played a role in executing a specific terror act. This decision is a ray of hope for many innocent victims who are falsely accused and jailed with heinous charges, he added.
The meeting condemned the demolition of Noor Masjid by the Delhi Development Authority and demanded to re-build the mosque.
The meeting was presided over by Chairman E. M. Abdul Rahiman. General Secretary K. M. Shareef, Vice Chairman Mohammed Ali Jinnah and NEC members Moulana Usman Baig, Prof P. Koya, Yasir Hasan, OMA Salam, Mohammed Khalid, Mohammed Shahabuddin, Anis Ahmed, A. S. Ismail, Mohammed Roshan and Ya Moideen attended the meeting.
